Gorgeous Pulsatilla back, but only for a very short time so wanted to get this photo up. The Tulips are also coming and all the fruit trees are doing well. There were so many Lady Bird's on the plot today I lost count of their spots. Two dead frogs decomposing and this lovely young alive one which alas I disturbed. Oh and some success on the asparagus front.

Incredible edible Dovecot continues. Thousands of doc weeds to pull out but I think it looks like we are making progress. The apple trees look so small. More digging next week.

Got the chance to plant lots of fruit trees and bushes in my sisters garden. We got two apples, two rhubarb crowns and a plum tree from Otter Farm and some raspberries, red berries and roses from B & Q. One little strawberry crown went in too. The garden looks transformed. There is lots to do but it is a joy to turn this garden into a wonderful space that my sister and her children can enjoy. Will keep you posted.

Hocus Pocus Crocus, a set on Flickr.
Crocus belongs to the Iris family. The name Crocus seems to come from Greece and means Saffron or Saffron Yellow. Fresco's show them being harvested at Knossos in Crete.

The financial community sometimes refers to companies or economic sectors that rise early after an economic downturn as "crocuses" in reference to the flower's ability to thrive in the late winter or early spring. (Wiki).
