Fantastic Mr Fox and the day of the Frog

Left some hay out and a fox made a bed out of it.  He or she had also ripped into a compost bag I'd left out.  Did a bit of a Colombo on the clues and came to that conclusion.  Amazing day today.  So much wild life and everything is springing up because of this wonderful weather.  The two apples trees seem to be doing well and the strawberry patch has gone berserk.  I've still got the colourful tulips at the front and bottom.  the raspberries are doing well.  We've got one blueberry casualty and I think the Rosemary has died so will need to deal with that at some point.  Lots of work to do on the allotment if the weather carries on like this but it's so special down there seeing all your hard work pay off .  Hope you like the pictures of the baby frog, non of the illusive fox though!

Tulips

Weather: Dry, sunny, chill in the air, 10 degrees C.

Spotted:  Bumblebees and fast moving spiders
Everything is blooming and springing up.  The Egremont Russet has made a comeback with lots of blossom.  The Pulsatilla is changing every week and is now hairy and thin as a flower with lots of growth in the roots.  I’ve been suffering with RSI recently so I’m keeping this blog short but only to say that I’ve planted my potatoes way too far apart from each other.  I’m a little ashamed and I will probably be the laughing stock of the allotments.  Note to self plant them closer next year.  I did want to celebrate the lovely tulips I planted two seasons ago though.
